Glyn Williams, District Governor, made a welcome visit to the Lions Club Meeting in August. As part of his visit he gave updates on various events taking place within Lions International. Old and new members were invited to take part. He was also pleased to present Paul Jolly, current Lion President, with a Certificate of Appreciation.

Location: Shirley British Legion
The annual Lions Beer & Cider Festival took place on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 September at the Shirley British Legion on Stratford Road. It was jointly hosted by Solihull, Shirley and Acocks Green Lions, whereby a variety of beers and ciders were available togther with live entertainment. This was a successful event enjoyed by all. Many thanks to all those who helped put this together.

Location: Eavesham
On Wednesday 16 September Lions Club members joined pensioners on a day trip to Eavesham followed by a stroll through nearby Broadway. Everyone enjoyed a mix of beverages, breakfast, lunch, shopping and even a trip on the Light Railway. This ended for some by a snooze on the way home. Weather was perfect for the day with the lightest sprinkling of rain.
