On Sunday 10 November 2024, many gathered to commemorate the contribution British and Commonwealth military and civilian service men and women involved in the two world wars. A poppy wreath was laid at the War Memorial outside St Alphege Church, on behalf of Solihull Lions by its President, Ken Bate.

On Thursday 19th December and Friday 20th December we shall be collecting for our Local Charities Appeal from 10.00am to 4.00pm courtesy of Morrisons at Sheldon.
We recently gave £2600.00 to purchase a special Pushchair for a local Deaf and Blind boy who is also severely disabled.

The Solihull Lions Annual Christmas Lunch for Pensioners took place again in December. It was lovely to see regular faces as well as a few new ones.

Lion members came together to meet the public and raise funds on Saturday 12 July at Morrisons Store in Sheldon. The public were generous as always and were also given various information including Message in a Bottle, a free emergency‑information service where medical and personal details are stored in a plastic bottle kept in the fridge. This is signalled by two green cross stickers so paramedics know exactly where to find it.

On 12 July Ken Bates handed over the Chain of Office to new Solihull Lions President, Paul Jolly. Members and partners celebrated with a barbeque cooked by the fair hands of its new President

Solihull Lions Secretary, Stephen Walker, met Service Dogs Caty and Lady at their recent visit to Solihull Hospital. Their owners received a donation of £1,500 from Solihull Lions in support of the dogs' regular visits to see patients each year. They continue to be a patient favourite.
