Our targeted help to individuals is principally devoted to local causes and people or organisations who may need financial assistance.
Solihull Lions Club aims to provide support for needy or lonely Senior Citizens in the borough with events such as:
- Summer Coach Outing
- Theatre trips
- A Christmas Lunch - all free of charge
In all instances supervision is provided by Solihull Lions ably assisted by partners and friends.
Solihull Lions also supports and provides financial help to Lions Clubs International for:
- Disaster Appeals and Humanitarian Aid for Relief from Earthquakes, Floods, Famine and Wars
- National and International Projects
Donations are directed to local Lions Clubs in the country or area affected so that we know that all of our donations go directly to those who need it.
Examples of areas of financial assistance that we have supported recently:
- Sensory Garden with wheelchair access at Reynalds Cross School
- The Family Care Trust
- On-street Defibrillators- to aid heart attack victims – 9 to date
- On-board Defibrillators for 10 Fast Aid vehicles
- £3,000.00 to equip a FastAid First Responder vehicle
- Solihull Wheels For All - to provide a specially made tricycle and also a Shipping Container for secure storage.
- This Way Up – Childrens Bereavement Charity
- Family Equip- Childrens Mental Health Charity for Autistic Children
- Barbecue for disabled and handicapped people
- Young Carers – Pantomime Trip
- Contribution to the Cleaning of the Solihull Cenotaph
- Planting ten mature Oak Trees in Brueton Park- to benefit the Community
- The Children in Crisis Centre - Cheswick Green, a mental health project + community café
- Local Students awarded a Lions Travel Bursary Grant towards Voluntary Service Abroad and Expedition Challenges
- Warwickshire Lowland Search & Rescue charity search for lost and missing persons
- Contribution to the costs of a drop in centre “Man Shed” at the Marie Curie Hospice
- Provision of help and financial assistance with holidays for the Children of Chernobyl
- Provision of a specialist lightweight wheelchair for a Deaf Blind local boy.
- A special Stair-climbing wheelchair for a local and severely disabled person
